Andrea Opavska was one of the leading figures in contemporary dance during the past decade. Also, she played an important role in Lenka Vagnerova & Company. Her performance in Gossip was nominated as an Thalia in the Thalia category. Her La Loba performance won her one of Edinburgh Fringe Festival's prestigious awards. But the long hours of a busy career have gradual transition into the next life path.I realized that the gap between myself and my young dancers was growing each day. I started to wonder how long this gap would last regardless of what the audience tells Opavska regarding her role within the company. Furthermore, the dancer was treated to recently undergoing hip endoprostheses to her joint, which also led to her performance. Foundation for a Dance Career covers the issue of a secondary profession. Andrea & I however focussed more on these challenging times and the impact they had on the transition to a next phase of our lives. The new life stages provide fresh possibilities. She attended in the UP Faculty of Arts Olomouc for a course in philosophy and the study of history. In HAMU, Prague she also studied dance pedagogy.
